On May 7th, in the wee small hours of the morning, Lexi and BJ became the proud parents of eight beautiful TTs. There were six boys and two girls. Lexi is busy now feeding and cleaning and protecting and eating and I understand that BJ enjoyed a special treat for a job well done! Murdock and Deb are spending their free time puppy gazing and trying to catch up on lost sleep. They are grateful to Joyce Ayotte, the co-breeder, for her experienced assistance during whelping…it was a long night! The puppies are gaining nicely and the black pigment is beginning to come in on the noses and the lips. The pink skin is slowly disappearing and white fur is growing in – so sweet! Check under the Gallery for pictures!

This morning, Lexi ’s ultrasound showed that she is indeed expecting puppies. This explains why she is having trouble eating (morning sickness) and sleeping a little more than usual. She is also really cuddly! It looks as though it might be a good sized litter if all goes well although we do not expect nine puppies again. Deb is busy making home-made food for her and getting things ready for the puppies. It is an exciting time. Please check the website for upcoming litter information and pictures.

Last summer turned out to be a good time for us. First, our mischievous boy Pucc’, (Snopaw’s Puccini Butterfly) earned his Canadian championship. Then, Murdock discovered that he was indeed handler extraordinaire since Lexi showed beautifully for him and quickly finished her Canadian championship that had been begun several years before! The judge could not believe that she was actually seven years old as “she moves out like a three year old and is so very beautiful!” Puccini’s championship was Lexi’s third puppy to become a champion which gave Lexi her ROM (Register of Merit). Lexi was already an American champion so that her Canadian championship makes her an International Champion! (Pictures forthcoming)
